NASDO Engages in Africa Mental Health Leadership Programme in Nairobi

Today in Nairobi, NASDO is proudly represented by The Executive Director, Abdirahman Mohamed Hassan, at the Africa Mental Health Leadership Programme (MHLP) Civil Society and People with Lived Experience Capacity-Building Workshop, taking place from 24–28 August 2026.

The workshop brings together civil society representatives and people with lived experience from across Africa to strengthen leadership, exchange knowledge and experiences, build partnerships, and promote more inclusive, responsive, and community-centred mental health systems.

For NASDO, this engagement provides an important opportunity to contribute perspectives from Somalia, learn from partners across the continent, and strengthen the role of civil society and communities in shaping mental health priorities, policies, and responses.

We extend our appreciation to Africa CDC, CBM Global Disability Inclusion, and the Mental Health Innovation Network (MHIN) for creating this valuable platform for learning, collaboration, and collective action.
