Water, sanitation and hygiene

WASH work at NASDO is practical and local: kits after floods, handwashing campaigns, and door-to-door awareness where waterborne disease follows the rains.

After flooding in Gubadley District, Mogadishu, NASDO distributed hygiene kits and ran health awareness sessions for affected households. In Jowhar, teams have gone village to village to explain the link between floods and waterborne illness, and how families can protect themselves.

NASDO takes part in national and Banadir WASH cluster meetings convened with UNICEF and other partners, including flood anticipatory action, urban water and sanitation, and cholera risk.
