Maternal and child health

Clinic care, prenatal and postnatal nutrition, growth monitoring, and health education at NASDO MCH centres.

At NASDO Maternal and Child Health centres, medical staff provide nutrition and primary care tailored to mothers and children. Nutritionists, clinicians, and community workers plan care together so families are not sent from one queue to another without a plan.

Services include individualized nutrition counselling, support for a healthy pregnancy and recovery after birth, age-appropriate feeding guidance, and regular nutritional assessments.

Gubadley MCH in Mogadishu, Neero MCH in Abdiasis District, and Moyko MCH in Jowhar are active delivery points. UNICEF has monitored programmes at Gubadley MCH to review the quality of nutrition and healthcare services.
