The completed training course on the IYC

The completed training course on the IYCF-E Curriculum, organized by Save the Children Somalia, had a clear objective of strengthening the capacity of international and local NGOs, including NASDO Organization. The training, which spanned five days, was facilitated by a mix of national and international experts, ensuring a comprehensive and diverse learning experience.

The participants of the training were highly experienced managerial individuals representing both national and international nongovernmental organizations. Their participation in the course reflected their commitment to improving practices related to Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF-E). The training was specifically tailored to meet the needs of these participants, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance their effectiveness in the field.

Throughout the five-day program, participants engaged in interactive sessions, practical exercises, and collaborative discussions. The facilitators, comprising national and international experts, brought their extensive knowledge and expertise to guide the participants effectively. Their combined experience enriched the learning environment, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the key principles and strategies of IYCF-E.

The training course focused on various critical areas, including the identification and response to nutritional needs, promotion of appropriate breastfeeding practices, and management of malnutrition cases in emergency settings. Participants gained practical skills in assessing and addressing the nutritional needs of infants and young children, with an emphasis on timely and adequate breastfeeding and the introduction of complementary feeding.
