NASDO Somalia participated in the GMHAN Suicide Prevention Working Group Meeting
Our Operations Director joined global mental health advocates in a virtual session ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day to share local perspectives and advance community-based strategies.
NASDO Somalia participated in the GMHAN Suicide Prevention Working Group Meeting on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, held virtually at 2:00 PM GMT (UK London Time).
The meeting, themed “Reflections Ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day,” brought together members of the Global Mental Health Action Network for an important discussion on:
• Policy and decriminalization
• Suicide prevention
• Data surveillance for suicide prevention
The session featured Agumya Faith, Team Leader of Kwa Imani Community and Uganda Country Representative for the African Suicide Prevention Association.
Representing NASDO Somalia, Abdullahi M., Operations Director, contributed perspectives from Somalia and joined the wider discussion on strengthening compassionate, community-based suicide prevention.
We appreciate the opportunity to learn, share experiences, and contribute to the global conversation on suicide prevention.
