NASDO supports breastfeeding awareness in Somalia

NASDO welcomed findings from a UNICEF Somalia U-Report survey during World Breastfeeding Week. The survey showed strong community understanding of breastfeeding and its importance for infant health.

Sixty-one percent of respondents supported starting breastfeeding immediately after birth. NASDO uses results like these in IYCF sessions at MCH centres, where medical staff already counsel mothers on early initiation, exclusive breastfeeding, and complementary feeding.
