Today, NASDO hosted an online discussion on mental health, stigma, silence and community support within Somali communities.
The session focused on:
Mental health struggles that often remain hidden
Stigma and barriers to speaking openly
The importance of listening and early support
The role of families and communities in creating safer spaces
Encouraging help-seeking and breaking the stigma
The discussion reinforced one important message: meaningful change starts when people feel safe to speak, be heard and receive support.
