In response to the recent devastating floods in Gubadley District, Mogadishu, the NASDO ORGANIZATION has taken immediate action to support the affected communities. As part of our ongoing commitment to public health and community resilience, NASDO has distributed essential hygiene kits to families impacted by the flooding.
The hygiene kits, which include soap, hand sanitizers, disinfectants, and other necessary items, aim to help prevent the spread of diseases that often follow natural disasters. By providing these critical supplies, NASDO seeks to ensure that the affected families maintain a level of cleanliness and hygiene despite the challenging conditions.
In addition to distributing hygiene kits, the NASDO team has been actively engaged in raising awareness about disease prevention and health maintenance. Our dedicated volunteers and health professionals have conducted educational sessions, informing the community about effective strategies to prevent waterborne and communicable diseases. These sessions cover the importance of handwashing, proper sanitation practices, and the safe handling and storage of food and water.
Furthermore, NASDO has provided guidance on recognizing the symptoms of common post-flood illnesses and the steps to take if someone in the community falls ill. This proactive approach not only helps to safeguard the health of the residents but also empowers them with the knowledge to protect themselves and their families in the future.
